THE Best Sugar Cookie

1 cup butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 egg
1 t vanilla

Mix well

Add: 2 3/4 cups flour
1/4 t salt

mix until barely blended
form a ball
refrigerator for at least 1 hour

375 for 6-8 min

Frosting
1/2 cup butter
1 t vanilla
3 cups 10x sugar
Mix
slowly add water or milk until the desired consistency
(for chocolate add 2/3 cup cocoa)
